Liuiqng He

Liuqing earned her PhD in Biology in 2023 from a joint training program between Fudan University and Westlake University, and continued at Westlake as a research fellow afterward. She moved to Harvard Medical School for postdoctoral training in 2025. Her current research focuses on the immunomodulatory functions of gut commensals and the functional characterization of the ancestral microbiome.

DIY Expert. I have a knack for crafting custom, handy lab gadgets to make experiments run smoother.

 

If you could be any microbe, what would you be and why?

Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron. As the ultimate "carb harvester" of the biological world, its ability to feast on carbohydrates is basically my life goal.
